Compassionate Leaders Community

In a few weeks the Compassionate Leaders will be launched, a global community for change.

You can read below what it will entail and if you are not in the mailing list yet, sign up to be notified when we go live at the bottom of the page (you will already receive the e-book “3 Steps to Becoming a Compassionate Leader”).

Purpose of the community

Inspire, be inspired by and connect with other (aspiring) Compassionate Leaders.

A Compassionate Leader is someone:

  • Who is open minded.
  • Who balances:
    • Masculine and feminine energy.
    • Technology and humaneness.
    • Doing and being.
    • Down-to-earthness and spirituality.
    • Fun and getting stuff done.
  • Who is focused on sustainability and desires sustainable relationships on three levels: with others, with themselves and with the planet.
  • Who is vulnerable (which is a source of strength to be present with someone).
  • Who is focused on personal and spiritual development to raise to their own consciousness and that of their organization.
  • Who is curious about differences and offers a safe space for them to be present.
  • Who acts from their own purpose and values and has them aligned with the ones from the organization.
  • Who listens with compassion and speaks from the heart (which doesn’t mean this is soft or fluffy, compassionate leaders can be very direct at addressing pain or tension and point people to their responsibility; the difference is that they do this with compassion).

By being who they are and by living compassionately, they invite others (unconsciously) to become compassionate leaders as well. They inspire by being.

This community connects Compassionate Leaders all around the globe who want to make a difference in the world, individually, on a project basis and with their organization.

What is included?

When you join, you get:

  • Free access to the Facebook Group (which we use as the community forum).

  • Free access to the LinkedIn Group (which we use as a directory).

  • Free e-book “3 Steps to Becoming a Compassionate Leader”.

  • Free mini LinkedIn training to increase your presence both in the community and on LinkedIn itself.

  • From time to time free webinars about how to become an (even more) Compassionate Leader.

In other words: tools and an environment to grow as a person and as a community.

What can you expect inside the community?

  • People who are on the same wavelength. Sometimes it can be lonely when you are one of the few Compassionate Leaders in your organization.

  • Ground breaking articles about projects that are changing the world – they will be the start of the discussions and interactions. What they have in common is that it is about an “extension” of compassion, whether towards other people, towards ourselves or towards the planet. The topics revolve around new ways to deal with energy, food supply, cradle-to-cradle production, sharing economy, new business models & ways of working together, meditation, gender equality, balancing masculine and feminine energy, mindfulness and much more.

  • Personal success and failure stories to learn from and to connect deeply as human beings.

  • Challenges: for example the Charity Challenge to support local charities, Donate Your Network Challenge to help unemployed people and the Random Acts of Kindness Challenge to give and receive joy.

  • “Games/Experiences” like the Compassion Game, the Values Game and the Be Generous Game.

Remark: we are just starting out, so we will see what initiatives are valued by you and the other members. Probably we will add and delete a few.

We also have the intention to organize live events like The Compassionate Leader Experience, Innovation & Brainstorming Circles, Charity Work Days, Compassionate Hackatons and Dragon’s Den XL (where all participants can invest a small amount in innovative, responsible, sustainable and compassionate companies instead of just the 5 investors). This will depend on the number of members in a region. You will be alerted when the time has come.

A successful community

The reason why many online communities fail is that:

  1. They are run by volunteers who don’t have the money to build a decent website/platform and can’t make enough time to keep the community running.
  2. There is a lot of spamming and uncompassionate behavior.

This is how we deal with these challenges in the Compassionate Leader community:

  1. The community is free of charge. If you want to learn more, you can purchase or subscribe to a course. Those funds will be used to pay for all the expenses that come along with running this community. The courses are discounted for members, making it a win-win situation. At the moment we prefer this way of working to corporate sponsorships in order to remain independent.
  2. There are some guidelines.

Guidelines

By joining the Compassionate Leader community, you agree to follow these guidelines.

Members who don’t follow them, will be compassionately alerted. If no change in their behavior is detected, they will be removed from the group. In that way we can create a safe and supportive environment.

Why do I have to sign up via this website?

Actually, there are several reasons:

  • Platforms change their functionality all the time. That’s why we don’t use LinkedIn as the community forum (unfortunately). To be able to stay connected with you and to transfer the community to another platform if needed, e-mail is the only way to go for the moment.
  • This small “hurdle” keeps away spammers and people who are not compassionate in their communication (yet). The intention with this community is to offer a space where things can really happen and change can be made for members, their organizations and the world.
  • We are able to notify you when new challenges, games, webinars, seminars and events are organized. Many members are over 40 years old, are very busy meeting people off-line and need e-mail as a trigger. If that’s what our members need, we provide it!

Are you ready? Then …
